Livy Glaubitz

When I'm painting outside on a sunny day, I feel like I've died and gone to heaven. So I paint outdoors whenever I can, wherever I am. I love the transparency of watercolors and like to let the white of the paper shine through. I think I got the love for drawing and painting from my Dad. We followed Jon Nagy together when I was very young and painted outside together when I was much older. I moved from Mercer County, NJ to Bath, Maine in November, 2007, where I have established Creekside Studio as a winter workspace and gallery for visitors.

I am primarily a watercolor painter, but also work in pencil, colored pencil, pastel, and stylus for etchings. This past year I have been studying acrylic painting and have a new acrylics gallery on this site. I have local scenes and will accept commissions for house portraits and other subjects as well. There are also some fine art Giclee prints and notecards from photos and scans of my paintings.
